LVMH集团旗下白马庄园计划打造一个拥有115间客房的豪华酒店,整体设计由Peter Marino操刀完成,预计在2025年面世。

 

该酒店所在的地块位于罗迪欧大道和小圣塔莫尼卡大道交界的拐角处,由LVMH所有,前身是Brooks Brothers和帕雷媒体中心。

 

酒店也做了一些特色的规划,比如设置了洛杉矶最豪华的客房、两间餐厅、一间SPA会馆、两个游泳池、一个私人会员中心,以及一个零售空间。

 

在设计上,这间酒店将使用进口的法国石灰岩。据设计师的介绍,这种石材多用于法国经典的古堡中,比如历史悠久的尚蒂伊城堡和枫丹白露宫。

 

Peter Marino表示,希望从人性化的角度去进行设计,酒店的每间窗户被设计成了不同的大小,还融入了各种艺术元素,让客人随时随地都能感受到艺术氛围。

 

LVMH集团于2006年在法国阿尔卑斯山开设了首家白马酒店,目前白马山庄在圣特罗佩、马尔代夫、圣巴特岛等地都设有豪华度假村,未来还计划落地巴黎、伦敦。据悉,集团正大力发展酒店业务,并作为其战略性长期投资项目。

 

LVMH controlled Cheval Blanc Hotels is planning a 115-room luxury hotel designed by Peter Marino on property it owns at the corner of Rodeo Drive and Little Santa Monica Boulevard.

 

LVMH is a strategic long-term venture with the earliest opening estimate of 2025. The hotel will be built on parcels of land owned by LVMH that were formerly occupied by Brooks Brothers and the Paley Center for Media.

 

The Cheval Blanc hotel in Beverly Hills will feature some of the largest luxury hotel rooms in Los Angeles, two restaurants, a Spa, two swimming pools and a private members club, as well as retail space dedicated most likely to one of the LVMH flagship companies.

 

Cheval Blanc Beverly Hills will be clad in imported French limestone, the same stone used to make “all the really classic chateaux” in France, Peter Marino said, including the historic Chateau de Chantilly and Palace of Fontainebleu.

 

Every window will be a different size, Marino said, “which is insane from a construction standpoint, but very human. I wanted a very humanistic approach. The hotel will have “art everywhere,” Marino said, including at the entrances and what he called a proposed graffiti wall on the newly realigned service alley “that will be the number-one selfie spot.”

 

LVMH opened the first Cheval Blanc, which translates to “white horse,” in the French Alps in 2006. Currently, Cheval Blanc operates luxury resorts in St Tropez, the Maldives and St Barths. Future confirmed openings include Paris (initially planned for the summer) and London.







Ikea buys AI innovator Geomagical Labs

International furniture and homewares retailer Ikea’s investment arm Ingka has bought US-based AI innovator Geomagical Labs, known for its hi-tech solutions that inspire consumers shopping for furnishings. 

 

The 3D and AI technology developed by Geomagical Labs will be used to help customers to take 3D photos of their rooms and experiment with home furnishing solutions to fit their individual needs.

 

“With Geomagical Labs on board, we can bring our home furnishing expertise to many people in new ways and assist them in their unique design needs,” said Ikea Retail chief digital officer Barbara Martin Coppola. “In a time when people spend more time at home, we can support our customers with their everyday life through an enhanced digital meeting.”

 

Customers can access the platform via the Ikea app and on Ikea.com, where they can also purchase items directly online.







British beauty retailer Space NK closes China stores after two years

进驻中国仅两年时间的英国多品牌美妆零售商Space NK,正逐步关闭旗下位于中国的门店。

 

Space NK在中国市场有8间门店,分布于上海、北京、重庆和成都等城市。随着新冠疫情的爆发,自二月份开始中国市场就有不少零售品牌相继关店。Space NK在4月初发布报告,证实了品牌关店及裁员计划。

 

Space NK目前并没有透露针对线上渠道的计划,包括天猫和京东平台的品牌旗舰店。品牌CEO Andy Lightfoot表示,精简店铺有助于品牌专注于核心业务及运营,同时将投资重点放在所有关键市场的持续增长上,中国市场仍是其中之一。

 

Space NK于1993年在英国创立,2018年进驻中国市场,2019年入驻天猫商城开设海外旗舰店。

 

British multi-brand beauty retailer Space NK has closed its shops in China, just two years after its debut there.

 

The retailer had opened stores in Chinese metropolitan cities Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing and Chengdu, with eight stores in total. Following the coronavirus pandemic which saw most of the nation’s shops closed in February, the company this week confirmed reports that all of its stores have subsequently been shuttered and staff laid off. 

 

Space NK has not revealed any immediate plans to list through online retail channels Tmall or JD, despite its investment in multi-channel retailing in other markets.

 

CEO and former digital director of Space NK, Andy Lightfoot, told BW Confidential: “The simplification allows us to concentrate on our core business and operations while focusing investment on continuing to grow across all key markets, of which China remains one”.







Korea’s duty free stores shut down

新冠疫情的蔓延也波及到韩国旅游零售,一些主要的免税店集团旗下门店不得不选择暂停营业。

 

本月早些时候,新罗免税店集团位于济州岛的门店发布公告,在周末和公休日时候暂停营业,共计十天,与此前“全年无休”的营业状况形成了鲜明对比。

 

集团也表示,暂停营业的措施主要是为了应对目前游客急剧下滑的现象,至于何时恢复正常运营将在晚些时候再做决定。

 

3月23日,新世界免税店集团关停了位于仁川国际机场航站楼大厅的4间门店;4月1日,另一间位于1号航站楼的门店也暂停营业。

 

新世界免税店集团位于1号航站楼的门店在疫情期间遭受了巨大冲击,因为其业绩主要依靠海外游客和廉价航空的免税商品销售。集团还与仁川国际机场达成协议,1、2号航站楼仍保持营业的门店将对营业时间作出调整。

 

此外,仁川国际机场2号航站楼的乐天免税店、新罗免税店也不再是全天候营业,最晚至晚上9点30分。HDC新罗免税店正在就关闭其位于首尔龙山的门店进行谈判。

 

Major duty free store operators in Korea have chosen to shutter as air gateways stay idle amid coronavirus pandemic.

 

Shilla Duty Free said that it decided to close its Jeju store on weekends and holidays during this month.

 

The latest restrictions to store operations, which under normal circumstances open 365 days a year, underline the impact the coronavirus is having on the travel retail industry in Korea.

 

The closed days are eight days of weekends, plus National Assembly Election Day on 15th April and Buddha’s birthday on 30th April.

 

When to normalize its operation will be decided later, the company said.

 

Shilla Duty Free said it is an inevitable measure in response to a sharp drop in tourists visiting Jeju Island under the influence of the virus. Shilla Duty Free’s Jeju Airport branch remains temporarily closed since last month as all international flights are suspended.

 

Earlier, Shinsegae Duty Free closed another store at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 on 1st April, following the closing of four of its 19 stores in the concourse in the terminal on 23rd March.

 

The Terminal 1 stores licensed only to Shinsegae Duty Free are hit hard because it is used mostly by foreign and budget airlines. Shinsegae Duty Free also agreed with Incheon International Airport Corporation to stop midnight sales of the remaining 14 stores in Terminal 1 and other Terminal 2 stores.

 

Lotte Duty Free and Shilla Duty Free decided to cut back operating hours at their Terminal 2 stores. They are now closed at 9:30 pm daily instead of 24-hour operations.

 

HDC Shilla Duty Free is known to be in talks to close its downtown store in Yongsan, Seoul.







Aeon Malaysia expands drive-thru services during pandemic

在推出面向商场消费者的“得来速”服务后,近日,马来西亚永旺进一步扩大了该服务辐射的地区范围。

 

考虑到人们需要保持一定的社交距离,来减小疫情传播的可能性,目前可提供“得来速”服务的网店共有28个。

 

“得来速”服务是永旺集团电子商务业务的一部分,目的是为了加强其全渠道战略。用户在线上系统下单后可在临近网点取走货品,支付货款;订单内商品配货由专门的工作人员完成。订单支持无现金支付,但具体规则根据各门店实际情况略有不同。

 

用户还可以通过线上系统查询、了解订单的相关信息。为防止遗漏,当用户取消订单时,系统会发送3次提醒。

 

Aeon Malaysia malls are expanding their drive-thru services to more locations following an introduction of the service using personal shoppers last month.

 

The mall and hypermarket operator will offer the service at 28 outlets as social-distancing measures continue within the territory in a bid to counter the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

 

Customers using the service can pre-order goods online, which are collected by in-store personal shoppers and made available for pickup within a selected two-hour time slot. Customers can also use the online service to make enquiries and read more information about the pick-up process.

 

Three reminders are issued via the WhatsApp messaging app before the order is cancelled in case on no-show. Various cashless payment options are allowed depending on the outlet.
